My current research explores sliding ferroelectrics, where electric polarization is controlled by shifting atomically thin layers. Using first-principles calculations, I design superlubric ferroelectrics with lower sliding barriers, enabling easier and more energy-efficient polarization switching. I also use machine-learning molecular dynamics to study how ferroelectric domain walls form and move in materials.
Overall, my goal is to uncover the atomic-scale mechanisms behind low-friction sliding and polarization switching, supporting the development of energy-efficient memory and nanoelectronic devices.
